Civil Registration:

Compulsory civil registration of births, Marriages and Deaths started in 1864.

Registration of non-Catholic marriages began in 1845.

Church Records:

The Anglican Church was the State Church of Ireland from 1560-1869. There were many non-conformists churches.

Roman Catholic parish registers for the period up to 1880 may be available with the local parish. An index is available
at the National Library of Ireland.
